RSVP International Onion GogglesReviewsThis are outstanding! No more mascara running down my cheeks while chopping/slicing onions. Plan to purchase several pairs for gifts. Some people have remarked that these onion goggles are a cheap rip-off. I recently received a pair of these from my wishlist as a birthday gift. The quality seems very good to me. I think that, perhaps, RSVP must have changed manufacturers for a while during 07 to 08, realized they were crap, and found a better manufacturer. I have not seen glasses from prior to 07 to be able to compare today's goggles with them, but I do know that the product I received is of a good quality. The glasses are shaped like wrap-around sunglasses, curved to fit the shape of the face. Behind the frame that surrounds the lenses is a light foam material that creates a seal with your face. This foam has a layer of material (a little like a very thin black polyester flannel) that covers the part of the foam that touches your skin. This material makes the foam more comfortable, as well as strengthening the foam's edge--which without the support looks like it could easily tear. There are no ventilation holes cut into the foam. Just like many wrap-around sunglasses, the fit of these onion-goggles is pretty snug. If you have a large head (like I do), don't expect to be wearing these for a long period of time (like for dry eyes.) While the fit is snug on me, (23" circumference head, size large hat) I find that I can wear them for at least a half an hour without discomfort--plenty of time to chop a lot of onions. As the foam creates a seal between the nose and eyes, I did not have a problem with fogging. The foam seems porous enough that some circulation of humidity could occur. Interestingly, though, this did not seem to allow the onion fumes in. The fumes. I could still smell the onions. The fumes still irritated my sinuses. But interestingly, the fumes did not affect my eyes. While I could feel a little burn in my nose, I had none of the tears (and consequently none of the runny nose) of cutting onions. Fact: As long as they create a seal against your face, they work. The glasses come in a soft plastic glasses case, which you can keep them in for storage. The case has a magnetic closure, which is nice when your hands are covered with meatloaf and you don't want to grab hard at the plastic to struggle with a snap. Why did I give them only 4 stars? According to the Vision Council of America, 64% of adult Americans wear glasses. There is absolutely no way to fit a pair of glasses beneath these onion goggles. If you have a pair of contacts you can switch into--great! But good luck taking the contacts out after you've been cutting onions. It's clear that it would be difficult to create a good seal against onion fumes around a pair of glasses, but if ski-goggle manufacturers can do it, couldn't the onion goggle people? They could offer it as a separate product. My prescription is around -2.0. I had no trouble cutting onions without my glasses on. But if your vision is worse, do a test drive at home, cutting onions without your glasses on, before you buy these. I have not tested these goggles to see how easy they are to clean. I suspect soap and water and a gentle touch with a towel. Last note: my cousin, who rides motorcycles, was at my birthday party. She commented that these looked almost exactly like motorcycle glasses. If you have ski goggles, motorcycle goggles, or a gas mask, give them a try. (Don't laugh--my dad was in the military and my mom used to use his old gas mask.) Slicing and dicing onions bothered me so much that I would avoid recipes requiring them. I saw these goggles recommended in Cooks Illustrated and ordered a pair - I thought the price was worth trying them out. I look a little like a WWII fighter pilot when I put them on but they absolutely work. Now I never hesitate to chop the onions and even volunteer for it when I have cooking partners. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to make them with a little magnification. If you wear glasses it is a little hard to see what you are doing or to glance back at the recipe without removing the glasses. They operate as expected. Definitely helps with the tears. Actually quite comfortable to wear. A co-worker brought these back from her trip in the islands, thought it was a joke. When I chop onions, I have to open the doors and walk outside so I can see to finish cooking, they get me so bad - so I tried them. Wow, no tears, they really DO WORK! I keep them handy so even for a small job I put them on. Now I just need them in a reading glass strength. Average Rating:![]() |

US Forge 108 Shaded #5 Economy Cup Brazing GogglesReviewsThis was bought as a costume piece. It arrived very quickly, in just a few business days, in adequate packaging. The goggles contain two set of lenses, a clear set and a shaded set, which can be easily removed and replaced. The only problem is that the bridgepiece (the part that connects the two halves just above the nose) consists of a string of metal beads (sorry, I'm not sure of the correct term) that thread through a hole on each side of the two halves, connecting them, and through the small black tube shown in the picture. This string does NOT hold. The goggles will sit on your face or head just fine, but the slightest stretching (for example, when you're pulling the goggles off or putting them on) will pull the metal beads out of the holes on the sides of the goggles, breaking the connection between the two halves. It requires needlenose pliers to fix and you have to take a lot of care when putting the goggles on and taking them off so as not to tug on the string of metal beads at all, otherwise the goggles will break again. As a costume piece that will only be worn a few times, it is a mild annoyance. If you were actually planning on using this for welding or any sort of work- or hobby-related activity, I would imagine that this would get old very fast. This product works fine a little fogging of the lenses occurs in the winter if working outdoors or in a cold shop. ( I saying working since ravers who buy these for there stupid drug parties have no real purpose for them other than the probably are to sensitive to smoke, how ironic) but yes they work accetlyn or propane torches alike. The goggles are perfect for work (i'm a hobby welder) but also for those who are looking for those goggles for Team Fortress 2 engineer cosplay. Must get! Great price too! (thought it's a big greenish but some paint can cure that. But it's function as welding goggles...no question about it. These have a fun steampunk look. Highly recommended as a cheap costume accessory. I replaced the lenses with crazy custom lenses from etsy to take it to the max. I can't review these goggles for their intended use, but for costume use, they were perfect! Inexpensive, replaceable lenses, and adjustable band, I used them for an Engineer costume from Team Fortress 2. Average Rating:![]() |

AO Safety 91264 Professional Chemical Splash GoggleReviewsGreat fitting protection while wearing hard hat and has a good quality clear lens.. I recomend them.. The goggle works great as described and as it's intended to be used. The lenses are 100% anti-fog, that is for sure, but ventilation is bad. 2 minutes and my prescription glasses would fog up and I'd have to remove the goggle for 5 seconds to get clear visibility, and this is why I rated it 4. It's NOT comfy as not wearing, that's for sure, but this is what you get for a well-secure goggle (although can be improved). Overall, as an amateur, I'm very glad about this product. I've received many compliments in my first year chemistry class about these goggles. They look similar to winter sports goggles, and they fit wonderfully, much more comfortably than the cheaper goggles my school sold. Highly recommended, if you're going to be wearing goggles for hours, wear these. These are without a doubt the best pair of safety glasses I've ever used. They do tend to fog up a little bit, but not nearly as bad as other sealed glasses (AO claims to have some kind of anti-fog coating). They're light, flexible to work with, and above all, keep my eyes safe. I would definitely recommend them. They kind of tend to fog up. I would suggest dropping the extra dough on a better pair of goggles. Average Rating:![]() |

Barney Google & Snuffy Smith [VHS]ReviewsImperishable comic strip SNUFFY SMITH goes on and on. Originally the 1919 comic strip BARNEY GOOGLE, in 1934 traveling man Google ventured into hillbilly territory with the introduction Snuffy Smith and his wife Loweezy and the strip stayed there, though Google himself went bye in the late 1950's. SNUFFY SMITH (still called BARNEY GOOGLE in many newspapers despite his disappearance for decades) rarely counted as one of the legendary comic strips but it has survived and flourished to a degree acccomplished by only a small handful of other comic strips and has outlasted every other hillbilly humor venture from the strip LIL ABNER to the movies MA & PA KETTLE to television's BEVERLY HILLBILLIES and is still going strong. SNUFFY however hasn't had as much luck as most successful comic strips in spinning off in to new areas. A couple of "B" movie comedies based on the series were released in the 1940's and in 1963 fifty six-minute cartoons were produced based on the strip. Seldom seen since, eleven of those cartoons are collected for this extremely rare VHS, produced in the last years of the format's flourishing and before DVD. These cartoons are very successful at capturing the look of a comic strip which bright colors and limited backgrounds. Surprisingly, Barney Google (already gone from the strips) is in nearly every cartoon in a pivotal part but most of the cartoons center around Snuffy and Weezy. Apparently the Smith's baby Tater and their nephew Jughaid were not yet in the strip as they are not seen in the cartoons, nor is Loweezy's gossipy pal Elvirney. Although nowhere near as funny as the comic strip when it's at it's best, these cartoons are enjoyable and worth seeking out for fans of the strip and cartoon buffs and are very much of their era with topical references as trips to the moon, beatniks, "inventions of the future", and the like. Episodes: Snuffy's Fair Lady Take Me to Your Gen'rul A Hauntin' for a House Give a Jail A Break Feudin' and A Fussin' Snuffy Goes to College Farm of the Future Loweezy Makes a Match The Work Pill Beauty and the Beat Smoke Screams Average Rating:![]() |

Dewalt DPG82-11C Concealer Clear Anti-Fog Dual Mold Safety GoggleReviewsWide field of vision. Works with prescription glasses (has special notches on the seal). Looks good too. Anti-fog is a little exaggeration especially when working with respirator (as expected). Overall I think excellent tool. I have had these for about a month and they are very comfortable and very clear to see out of and I have not had any fogging up problems as of yet. I'm going to school to earn a degree in Process Technology, and Chemical Engineering. For the degree, I'm required to take several levels of chemisty classes, as well as work in numerous mockup-industrial processing plants. For this reason, I decided to get a pair of goggles that are durable enough to last through all my classes. Most of the other students have cheap, lame, rubber goggles that rip,(You know, the ones with the round mesh buttons on the side for ventillation, and a cheap/thin elastic strap) and they need to buy a new pair every year. These goggles not only last, but they stand out. My instructors can immediately pick me out of the crowd, which means more of their attention, and when it comes time for grades or letters of recommedations... you get the idea. They're very affordable for the quality I paid for, and they're very comfortable. There are slits at the top allow ventillation which make life much easier. The straps are easily adjustable for fitting, and - again - they stand out in a crowd. Just looking at them makes people think I'm a professional or something. I'm not. I'm a struggling student in class, just like they are... probably more so. They look cool. They're high quality. They're durable and versatile. They attract attention. The are very affordable for the benefits you're getting from them. They're highly recommended. Go ahead. Make a difference. What do you have to lose? well I guess I'll start by saying that my trade is roofing since 2003. I use the safety goggles when doing dry-rot repairs the particles fly all over the place and so I bought the dewalt safety goggles. I have to tell you if you worry about looks they are kind of big for a small face like mine; however, this goggles are good for what they are intended they protect my eyes very well. I don't care what othes think I love them because they protect my eyes and peripheral area of them as well. the order arrived quickly and the transaction went smoothly. Thanks and hope this review will be helful to you all. I sweat a lot, I have a large head. It's life. Unfortunately these goggles don't play nice with either of these issues. Despite the soft rubber gasket around the outside of these goggles they dig into my face around the edge of my eye sockets. Plus the fog up quite quick with strenuous activity. Obviously your experience may vary depending on the size and shape of your head and face, but if you've got a larger head you might want to steer clear of these goggles. Average Rating:![]() |

Dewalt DPG54-1C Protector Clear High Performance Lightweight Protective Safety Glasses with Wraparound FrameReviewsIt does a good job at covering my eyes without getting in the way of my work. Well made. Fast shipment. I purchased these glasses for my Auto Mechanics classes because there are safety glasses required. I also use them when using power tools and they've never let me down. They hug my face quite well, leaving little if no space for stray particles to enter my eyes. They have good all around protection and are Rated for high impact. (ANSI Z87.1+). They have been through some bad times and prove to be pretty scratch resistant. The only flaw that I may point out is that due to my facial structure I will usually get a small foggy spot near the top of the lenses on both left and right. But that's just me... Overall this is a product that I would highly recommend to any one looking for stylish, strong, and effective safety glasses.... ^_^ It is very comfortable protector. The price is great. The only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't fit over my glasses. Somewhat stylish, but maintaining the Dewalt yellow brand these protective lenses do what they are intend for. They are plastic and will scratch if not kept well, so I recommend keeping the plastic box that they are shipped in for storage Although they don't appear bent, they sit wonky or askew on my head. And no it's not my ears. Also bought the tinted equivalent and they were fine. Average Rating:![]() |

Hobart 770096 Welding Oxy-Acetylene Goggle - 50mm Eye CupReviewsthese where the perfect base for a costume prop. I cant rate there function as welding goggles as I didnt use them for that. But as a steam/cyber punk costume/fasion peace they are exsalent. These goggles are very durable and adjustable - a good deal for the 10+- bucks. For those who are unaware, there are two lenses per eye: a pretty green glass one with a clear plastic one on top. Unfortunately, one of the plastic lenses arrived scratched, but it's something I can live with. The lenses are easily removed because the plastic ring in the very front unscrews. For some reason, the image used gives this ring a sort of "octogonal" look...which isn't the case with the actual goggles. They are very round, which is what I was hoping for. The goggles are a bit larger than I would have expected, but I'm guessing this is normal for welding purposes. The plastic also digs into the skin around my nose a bit, and they aren't so comfortable resting on my forehead, so I'm going to add some thin rubber padding. I plan on using these for a costume/welding, so I really can't complain much due to the great price. These goggles are just begging to be customized with a fresh coat of paint, watch gears, and a new pair of lenses. Have fun! These goggles work great for a pair of steampunk goggles. Now granted I spray painted them and glued some additional parts on it but the shape still lends itself very nicely to being modded for steampunk. Here are two pics of the goggles after I got done with them :) http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/5057/p1030882r.jpg http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2108/p1030883x.jpg These are the highest quality goggles I have ever bought for such a good price. I have really sensitive eyes, and I've been looking for some extra dark sunglasses. I saw the movie Riddick with Vin Diesel and thought the goggles he wore in the movie would work very well. These aren't quite it. While the dark lenses are great, you do get a bit of tunnel vision. The lenses are too big and the eye cup too deep. I wanted them for driving and the lenses are great for filtering the sun, though I do prefer polarized in some ways and did switch back to my sunglasses. I love the green lens color, so much better than brown or grey. When I wear them my friend says I look like Monty Burns piloting an "automocar". They're uncomfortable after fifteen minutes, they're very hot, and I just can't get the fit right. I'm going to look for a smaller pair. Why doesn't someone make a double dark sunglass for those of us with sensitive eyes?!!? Average Rating:![]() |

Warren Miller: Children Of WinterReviewsGreat video, classic Warren Miller. Awesome Blue Ray quality and theater sound makes this a must have for skiers and snowboarders. I have seen most of Warren Miller films and this one is very unique with the stories and adventures. Highly recommended. The joy of all earlier Warren Miller movies was the crusty commentary by Miller. He doesn't do it any more and in its place is a banal, high volume thumping music and stupid commentary. I would advise missing this movie. As another reviewer says, Warren Miller is no longer involved in Warren Miller movies and it shows. One things you could always count on in Warren Miller films was lots and lots of great skiing action. In this one, most segments feature more talking than actual skiing! It's unfortunate because what skiing they do show looks absolutely jaw dropping in HD. My husband and I are huge fans of the Warren Miller films. When Johnny Mosley started to narrate in previous films we were like this sucks. He gets better and better every film. Although we do miss Warren so so much. Great film as always. I am from NH and ski at Okemo a lot as my season pass is good there, I really hate how they make it look like the Wobbly Barn (where the band does their gig) is at Okemo, it is really at Killington. The skit with Jason Biggs was drawn out and cheesy. I love the ski joring part, so awesome! Can't wait to see what next years film will be. Enjoy! It is sad that this title was sold by his kid to a company that doesn't really get it. They probably didn't like the production costs and they certainly don't have the sense of humor. I'm sorry that this is one of the few of this series in Blu-Ray, because it does not live up to expectations. The key year is 2004, before that Warren Miller was the man in charge, now it is "Time, Inc" and you might just as well buy any other skiing movie. I was disappointed in the film, it lacks the life of the Miller films, that made me go and search the net to see why it has all gone wrong. Save your money and hope they re-issue the old movies. Re:Session Ski DVD - Re:sessionReviewsAnother excellent offering from TGR. Lots of deep pow, gnarly lines and huge hucks. Definitely worth a watch. This video is tremendous. I bought it on iTunes but after watching it I totally had to have it on dvd as well. The soundtrack is stellar & the footage was great. Best thing is that it mostly shows skiing action, whereas the last few years of Warren Miller films follow the same formula every time (here's guys making lines off a peak... next here's snowboarders riding rails in a parking lot at night & slamming their face on concrete). Besides the predictability, Miller films of late go easy on the action & instead just talk you to death. Warning: this video is ALL skiing & no snowboarding. Average Rating:![]() |

Black WinterReviewsIf you love rails...get it. If you think they're repetitive and boring and prefer snowboarding that occurs on a mountain, this may not be for you. This was a Christmas gift for my Grandson who is 16. After he opened the package, he ran to the DVD player and all of us watched it. Exiting stuff. Super Sunnies UV Eye Protection Tanning Goggles Eyeshields One PairReviewsI don't have an unusually wide face, but I was not able to adjust these so that there was no light leakage at the sides. This makes them useless. I wrote to the company, told them the problem and asked about a return. They said they wouldn't take back items that were opened. So, because I opened the item and found it useless, they won't take it back. I suppose they happily accept unopened merchandise from people who just return things for no reason? Complete waste of money. I will dispute this on my credit card if Amazon does not make this right. Theese are made very good. I also like the fit & coverage that they give me. Simple perfect for the tannong salon!!! I love the fact that it comes in a case thank you Average Rating:![]() |

Best insurance for you expensive sun glasses. The product I needed at a price I can afford delivered in a timely and convenient manner. I wear semi-expensive sunglasses, I had a habit of losing them and the Croakies solved that problem. This product attaches to the handles with a snug fit.
