I was disappointed since there wasn't a description and I thought the toy was going to be larger and assembled and painted. It wasn't. It arrived in a package that had the dimensions listed in the product info section, but was actually much smaller. It was also not painted and unassembled (the skis were not attached to the body of the snowmobile).

This is a great book for someone looking for repair or maintenance information. It's devided by brand and categories. The book contains wiring diagrams, instructions to part and install everything & tuning instructions. The more complicated procedures are illustrated in black & white with photos or illustrations. For the amount of information, it's well worth the money.

It was purchased for a friend and he just keeps raving and raving about the book. He showed it to several of his friends and they want to borrow it. This book was a great hit.

I thoroughly enjoy this book. It's got lots of great photos and brief descriptions of a wide array of sleds-both well-known and obscure. Don't expect it to list every model from every maker there ever was-no single volume could do that. But what the book does deliver is a good cross-section of the many interesting sleds that were produced during the first boom years of snowmobiling in North America. This is an easy-reading picture-book so attractive that even some of my friends and family with little experience or interest in snowmobiles got drawn into it. I highly recommend it.

Great stuff! It left me wanting more. I hope there is a sequel in the future, because it left me wanting more. There is so much more to be written on this subject.

Collecting vintage snow mobiles is becoming a popular hobby. Looking back at the inception of the snow mobile and learning about the first machines is very interesting. This book has some wonderful pictures of them and has a very informative narrative. Anyone interesting in building snow mobile collection can't live without this book!

The gentleman this gift was for, loved it. The book shippd on time and arrived in good condition.

If you're looking for a trip down memory lane this book is not the choice. I was expecting a coffee table book with pictures of vintage snowmobiles. Instead, it is repackaged period shop manuals. That's great if you own a vintage sled and need to know specs, it's probably invaluable for that purpose. There is no description for the book, so my fault for assuming (or hoping) it would have color period pictures - which it does not.
